Your learning
Assessment and certification
See how the course helps you bring the ideas together and recognise what you have learned along the way.

HOW RECOGNITION WORKS
Three stages, from your first check to your certificate
01
Knowledge checks
Short checks throughout the course invite you to pause, think through a clinical question and see how the principles fit together. You will receive feedback as you progress.
02
Final theory assessment
The course ends with a final knowledge assessment of 30 scenario-based questions, each with one best answer from four options.
03
Certificate of completion
Complete your course, pass its final assessment and submit the course evaluation to receive an ECHO theory-completion certificate.

Attempts
Up to three
Between attempts
24 hours
The pass mark is 80%. You have up to three attempts, with a 24-hour gap between attempts so you can revisit the lessons first. If a third attempt is unsuccessful, your educator will talk it through with you before any further attempt.
Your certificate
Issued once three things are done:
- Complete your course
- Pass its final assessment
- Submit the course evaluation
What the certificate records
It records the course title and confirmed learning hours, recognising theoretical learning rather than observed practical skills.
What it does not claim
Theory completion does not guarantee insurance cover or practical competence; confirm your insurer’s requirements and obtain appropriate treatment-specific training and supervised competency assessment before independent practice.
Continuing professional development
ECHO is a Member Organisation of The CPD Certification Service, membership number 50537. Membership does not mean that individual courses are accredited. Until each course is accredited, the recorded hours are ECHO’s nominal CPD learning hours rather than externally accredited credits.
