Mentorship booking terms

What you agree when you buy ECHO Start Safe, how cancellations and video bookings are handled, and what one-to-one reviews do not cover.

These terms apply when you buy the standalone Start Safe programme online. The two consents below are asked for and recorded before payment, and a copy is kept with your purchase record.

Your programme

The standalone programme is a one-time £249 purchase for 8 weeks. It includes seven worksheets, one written review and one revision check for each, and a 30-minute closing video meeting. There is no subscription or automatic renewal. The same programme is included with a full one-to-one practical training day at no separate mentorship charge.

Cancelling an online purchase

For consumer purchases made online, a 14-day cancellation period generally applies. Starting a mentoring service during that period requires a separate express request. If you then cancel, only a proportionate charge for service already provided may be due where the law permits. Digital lessons require separate consent and acknowledgement before early access removes the cancellation right for that digital content. Simply opening a lesson does not cancel your rights to undelivered mentoring services.

How the programme fee is allocated

Of the £249 standalone fee, £174 covers the seven worksheet review stages and £75 covers the closing video meeting. Preparation lessons are included without a separate charge. The worksheet portion is shared equally across the seven stages, with any total proportionate calculation rounded to pennies once.

A submitted worksheet or first review does not automatically mean the whole stage has been delivered. This breakdown helps value the service actually supplied; it is not an automatic cancellation penalty. Where mentorship is included with a practical day, it does not create an additional fee or change the separate practical booking terms.

Ending the programme later

If you leave the programme, the unused service will be refunded, less a fair amount for services already supplied and reasonable, evidenced, non-recoverable costs. The full fee will not be automatically retained. The same service or loss will not be charged twice.

Changing a video appointment

You can rearrange a video appointment without charge by giving at least 24 hours’ notice, subject to availability. For shorter notice or a missed appointment, any charge must fairly reflect reserved time and actual loss. Exceptional circumstances will be considered, and the same loss will not be charged again if the appointment is filled. Arriving late will normally leave the original finishing time unchanged.

If ECHO cannot deliver

If your educator cancels, you will be offered a replacement time or a refund for the affected undelivered service. If the remaining programme cannot be delivered as agreed, you can cancel the affected remainder for an appropriate refund. Statutory rights are unaffected.

Professional boundaries and privacy

Reviews are booked educational conversations, not live treatment support, prescribing consultations, emergency advice or proof of practical competence. Submit your agenda two working days ahead and use your private practice log for anonymised material. Calls are not recorded unless both parties agree in writing. Replies are targeted within five working days, not immediately.

For practical training cancellations, refer to the separately agreed practical booking terms. Inclusion of mentorship does not replace those terms.

Basis for these terms

The 24-hour rescheduling notice is an ECHO policy, not a statutory rule.
